River Valley is a perfect 9-0 against Odyssey Institute since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Dust Devils will look to defend their home field against the Minotaur at 3:45 p.m. River Valley will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
On Thursday, River Valley got the win against Parker by a conclusive 13-3. The result was nothing new for the Dust Devils, who have now won six games by nine runs or more so far this season.

Sophia Reyes made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, Tamarie Williams was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Aaliyah Yanez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
River Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .562. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Odyssey Institute was a bit more limited in their contest on Wednesday. They lost 10-1 to River Valley. The Minotaur have struggled against the Dust Devils recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Odyssey Institute saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Meagan Cummings, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.
River Valley has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games. As for Odyssey Institute, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
Monday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. River Valley has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .560. However, it's not like Odyssey Institute struggles in that department as they've averaged .633. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
