The Bradshaw Mountain Bears entered their tilt with the Mingus Marauders with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Bradshaw Mountain blew past Mingus 64-30 at home. Given Bradshaw Mountain's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while Mingus is ranked 216th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Mason Hunt, who dropped a double-double on 32 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Preston Ranniker was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Despite the loss, Mingus saw an underclassman step up: Ricky Villalobos scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Memphis Korolowicz, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Bradshaw Mountain is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Mingus, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-14.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bradshaw Mountain will take on Prescott at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mingus, Mingus and Mohave will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Mohave is hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses.
