Palmview has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 61-53 to Martin on Friday. Palmview has struggled against Martin recently, as their match on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
The losing side was boosted by L gonzalez, who scored 30 points along with five rebounds and two steals. That was a full 56.6% of Palmview's points, marking the seventh time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Adrian Ibarra, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Mission Veterans Memorial's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 45-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of Martin.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Serrano, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Tyler Davis was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
Palmview's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 21-10. As for Mission Veterans Memorial, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.
