After flying high against Ridgewood last week, the Northern Highlands Highlanders came back down to earth. Northern Highlands suffered a grim 66-42 defeat to the Hackensack Comets on Tuesday. The Highlanders won against Hackensack in their previous head-to-head in January, too, but their margin this time around was much wider than that 46-40 finish.
The loss dropped Northern Highlands back to even at 10-10. The win improved Hackensack's record to 10-4.
Northern Highlands will take on Ridge today. Northern Highlands is at home for the contest, a silver lining they hope will compensate for their disadvantage in the MaxPreps rankings. As for the Comets, they will go up against Teaneck in two weeks. If the game is anything like Hackensack's 72-66 victory from their previous meeting January, the scorekeeper will be kept real busy.
