The Calvin Christian Crusaders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight defeat. They took a hard 41-25 fall against Army-Navy. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Calvin Christian of the 48-17 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Despite the defeat, Calvin Christian had strong showings from Isaac Lapka, who scored seven points along with six steals and five rebounds, and Garrett Becker, who scored eight points.
Calvin Christian has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Army-Navy, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-7.
Calvin Christian will head out on the road to challenge the Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Orange Glen is on a seven-game streak of home losses, the Crusaders a six-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Army-Navy will take on the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Rock Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 last Monday.
