Seth Vasquez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. Vasquez was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Orlando Christian Prep's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 5-6 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, Orlando Christian Prep got a massive performance out of Brayden Schuster, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. The Warriors are 5-1 when Schuster posts two or more runs, but 3-5 otherwise. Carter Reis was another key player, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Orlando Christian Prep was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, City of Life Christian Academy earned a 6-3 victory over Real Life Christian Academy on Monday.
Gabriel Cepeda was a standout: he scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Camacho, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases.
City of Life Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Orlando Christian Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.
Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Orlando Christian Prep has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .455. However, it's not like City of Life Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .454. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
