Basketball Game Preview: Bishop Seabury Academy Seahawks vs. Baldwin Bulldogs

The Bishop Seabury Academy Seahawks will venture away from home to face off against the Baldwin Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Bishop Seabury Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six matchups.

Last Friday, Bishop Seabury Academy didn't have too much trouble with Kansas City Christian School as they won 76-58. Given the Seahawks 's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while the Panthers are ranked 443rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bishop Seabury Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chase Honarvar, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 16 rebounds. Honarvar has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more boards the last 34 times he's played. Jace Smith was another key player, dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten assists.

Bishop Seabury Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in seven consecutive games.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Baldwin, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Louisburg with a sharp 59-39 victory on Friday. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 20 points or more this season.

Baldwin's win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for Bishop Seabury Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.

Bishop Seabury Academy came up short against Baldwin in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 60-56. Can Bishop Seabury Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
