The Calvary Baptist Eagles scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Houston Adventist Academy with a sharp 86-66 victory. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Calvary Baptist was led to victory by Sam Guisler and Max Guisler. Guisler almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine rebounds, while Guisler dropped a double-double on 24 points and 14 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Guisler has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Wilson, who scored 11 points along with eight assists and two steals.
Several Houston Adventist Academy players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ottis Crudup III, who scored 27 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Crudup III is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 16 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Nate Morrison, who scored 16 points along with eight assists and five rebounds.
Even though they lost, Houston Adventist Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Calvary Baptist only pulled down 11 offensive rebounds.
Calvary Baptist is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-15 record this season. As for Houston Adventist Academy, they now have a losing record at 9-10.
Calvary Baptist will be playing in front of their home fans against Lifestyle Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lifestyle Christian is coming into the match with seven straight losses on the road, meaning Calvary Baptist will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. Houston Adventist Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
