Marathon extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping them down to 10-7-1. They came up short against the Immaculata-La Salle Royal Lions, falling 12-4. The Dolphins were not able to make up for their defeat to the Royal Lions from their previous meeting back in February of 2025.
Marathon saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Roco Piscetello, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
As for Immaculata-La Salle, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-8. They not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since February 27th (when they won 15-2).
On Immaculata-La Salle's side, Brandon Nu?ez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Nu?ez has posted since back in February. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Daniel Gonzalez and Jonny Quintana did most of the damage at the plate: Gonzalez went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Quintana got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Those two RBI gave Gonzalez a new career-high. Jeremy Roberts was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Coming up, Marathon will challenge Master's Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Immaculata-La Salle, they will take on Columbus at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Explorers' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Royal Lions' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
