Kings Park is 8-2 against the Buccaneers since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Kings Park Kingsmen will head out on the road to square off against the Islip Buccaneers at 6:00 p.m. Kings Park is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last eight games.
Kings Park scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Amityville Memorial 60-31 at home. Kings Park has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 22 points or more this season.
Kings Park relied on the efforts of Gianna Zawol, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and four steals, and Ryan Currier, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds and six blocks. Currier is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least ten every time she's taken the court this season. Meanwhile, Islip strolled past the Panthers with points to spare back in January, taking the game 53-35. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Islip has managed all season.
Kings Park's win was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points per game. As for Islip, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
Kings Park took their victory against the Buccaneers in their previous matchup back in January by a conclusive 41-19. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kings Park since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
