The JW North Huskies's four-game losing streak came to an end on Monday. They strolled past Chino with points to spare, taking the game 67-48. The win was just what JW North needed coming off of a 80-60 defeat in their prior matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Chino lost, one person who can't be blamed is Shawn Jamison Jr. Despite the final result, he scored 24 points along with seven rebounds. That was a full 50% of Chino's points, marking the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Christian Gibson was another key contributor, scoring six points along with two steals.
JW North's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-13. As for Chino, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-13.
JW North will head out on the road to challenge Rancho Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Rancho Christian's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last nine matches. Chino won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Baldwin Park at 6:30 p.m. on January 16th. Baldwin Park will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1372nd, while Chino is ranked 618th).
