Lexington Catholic barely beat Lexington Christian the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Knights never let the Eagles get on the board and left with an 8-0 win on Tuesday. Considering the Knights have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Lexington Catholic got a great performance from Jack Sams as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over six innings pitched. Sams has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jack White, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Brady Wasik, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

The victory (which was Lexington Catholic's third in a row) raised their record to 13-7-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Lexington Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-10.

Lexington Catholic will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
