Hoopeston won the last time they faced Westville and things went their way  on Saturday too. The Hoopeston Cornjerkers snuck past the Westville Tigers with  a  53-47 victory.
Hoopeston got their  win on the backs of several key players, but it was  Addyson Kelnhofer out in front who  dropped  a double-double on 13 points and ten  rebounds. Another player making a difference was  Mady Klaber, who  went 5 of 8  on her way to 14  points.
 Hoopeston  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with ten  offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  pulled down at least eight  offensive boards in four consecutive  matchups.
 Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was   Madison Duke, who  posted 12 points and five  assists. Duke continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's  played.  Gwen Bennett was another key player,  putting up 13  points along with seven  boards and five  steals.
Hoopeston's record is now 17-10. As for Westville, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-20.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hoopeston will take on Georgetown-Ridge Farm at 7:30  p.m.  on Monday. Hoopeston has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Westville, they will challenge Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
