If the Einstein Titans were riding high off their 59-32 takedown of the Avalon Black Knights on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Einstein took a 58-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lanham Christian. While losing is never fun, Einstein can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 208th, while Lanham Christian is ranked 19th).
Lanham Christian found their leader in underclassman Diego Joy, who scored 26 points. The match was Joy's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Naz Joy was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Einstein now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Lanham Christian, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.
Einstein's road trip will continue as they head out to face Wheaton on January 5, 2024. Wheaton is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Lanham Christian won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Thomas Stone at 5:00 p.m. on December 28th. Thomas Stone knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Lanham Christian likes a good challenge.
