The McArthur Mustangs will be playing at home against the Boyd Anderson Cobras at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, McArthur was fully in charge, breezing past Chaminade-Madonna 57-11 on the road. With McArthur ahead 42-3 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead McArthur to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jada Jones, who scored 14 points along with 4 steals. Another player making a difference was Jahnya Lewis, who scored 11 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 steals.
Meanwhile, Boyd Anderson really took it to Hallandale for the full four quarters, racking up a 42-12 win on the road. The squad ran away with 36 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those to pick up the victory.
Boyd Anderson found their leader in underclassman Jakaylia Roland, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 10 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Roland has scored at least 25% of Boyd Anderson's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zynai Thomas, who scored 6 points along with 3 steals.
The win makes it two in a row for McArthur and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for Boyd Anderson, their victory bumped their record up to 1-2.
McArthur beat Boyd Anderson 44-32 in their previous matchup back in January of 2019. Will McArthur repeat their success, or does Boyd Anderson have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
