The Norborne Pirates's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight defeat. They took a serious blow against Northland Christian, falling 61-21. If Norborne was looking for revenge after losing 62-42 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Norborne's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zach Deitch, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Kottin McClure, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Norborne's loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Northland Christian, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.
Norborne will head out on the road to face off against the Wildcats at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Southwest focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 last Wednesday. As for Northland Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Kansas City East Christian Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the in Missouri (the Lions are ranked 151st, while the are ranked 440th).
