The North Kitsap Vikings are taking a road trip to challenge the Mount Si Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (North Kitsap 3.3, Mount Si 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Mount Si will be up against a hot North Kitsap team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Vikings' pitchers stepped up to hand Kingston a 9-0 shutout on Wednesday.

Tate Stearns made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
In other batting news, Nolan Rowe was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Greysen Prichard, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
North Kitsap always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kingston only posted an OBP of .286.
Meanwhile, Mount Si had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on Skyline with a sharp 8-2 victory on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Wildcats have posted against the Spartans since April 19, 2022.
Owen Krasowski tossed a big game, pitching 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Mount Si is 7-1 when Krasowski allows three or fewer earned runs, but 4-8 otherwise.
At the plate, Chase Mentink and Taylor Davis did most of the damage at the plate: Mentink got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs, while Davis got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Flores, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run.
North Kitsap's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Mount Si, their record is now 11-9.
