Fossil Ridge is 9-1 against Fairview since February of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Fossil Ridge SaberCats will look to defend their home court against the Fairview Knights at 6:30 p.m. Fossil Ridge has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Fossil Ridge scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Prairie View 66-30 on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Fossil Ridge has posted yet this season.
Fossil Ridge's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lauren Smith led the charge by scoring 18 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Smith has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Natalie Lin, who scored 12 points along with seven assists and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Fairview struggled with assists on Wednesday (Poudre had ten more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Fairview received a tough blow as they fell 58-41 to Poudre. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Fairview in their matchups with Poudre: they've now lost three in a row.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Remy Tolar, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Chang, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Fossil Ridge now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Fairview, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.
Fossil Ridge strolled past Fairview when the teams last played back in January of 2023 by a score of 54-35. Will Fossil Ridge repeat their success, or does Fairview have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
