Brighton has gone 8-2 against Munford recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Cardinals will take on the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Munford will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Brighton extended their winning streak to seven on Tuesday. The Cardinals blew past Millington Central 13-4.
Laney Lawson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Aliya Garcia was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Braeley Lopez, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.
Brighton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .375 or higher in seven consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Munford got the win against Briarcrest Christian on Tuesday by a conclusive 12-1.
The team relied heavily on Ellie Kate Billings, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Joci Wilkins was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Munford has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Brighton, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-6-2.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Brighton hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .403. However, it's not like Munford struggles in that department as they've averaged .332. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Brighton skirted past Munford 7-5 in their previous meeting last Tuesday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cardinals since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
