Pleasant Valley's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-6. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Wheatland, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7-1.
Wheatland's speedy runners might be the difference in Saturday's matchup. The Pirates have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.5 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Pleasant Valley, though, as they've been averaging only 1.4 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Wheatland continue to outrun the ball?
Wheatland might still be hurting after the 14-6 loss they got from Pleasant Valley in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can the Pirates avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
