Having just played yesterday, the Loachapoka Indians will get right back to it and host the Maplesville Red Devils at 6:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Loachapoka will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
On Monday, Loachapoka didn't have too much trouble with Billingsley at home as they won 49-34.
Meanwhile, Maplesville put the finishing touches on their fourth blowout victory of the season on Monday. They breezed by Verbena at home to the tune of 57-17. That 40 points margin sets a new team best for Maplesville this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Maplesville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nehemiah McCary, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. McCary has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Jonathan Wilson was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with four steals.
Loachapoka's win bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Maplesville, they pushed their record up to 8-5 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home.
Loachapoka came up short against Maplesville when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 43-38. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of McCary, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Now that Loachapoka knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
