The Pendleton Heights Arabians were the 57-35 winner over the New Palestine Dragons when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Pendleton Heights fell to New Palestine 52-48.
Despite the defeat, Pendleton Heights had strong showings from Adah Hupfer, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds, and Kaycie Warfel, who scored 19 points along with three steals. That was a full 39.6% of Pendleton Heights' points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Jones, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and four steals.
New Palestine can attribute much of their success to Vivian Miller, who scored 25 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Miller has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Allie Blum, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Pendleton Heights bumped their record down to 11-7 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for New Palestine, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-9 record this season.
Pendleton Heights won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Rushville at 1:30 p.m. on January 13th. Rushville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 225th, while Pendleton Heights is ranked 58th). As for New Palestine, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Waldron at 7:30 p.m. on January 18th. Waldron is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
