Shania Cope made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily McClean, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, the third road match was the charm for Chartiers Valley, as they earned their first away victory of the season. They put the hurt on Moon Area with a sharp 10-1 win on Wednesday. The Colts haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Taylor Walsh spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on six hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Delaney O'Connor, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. Annabelle Helt was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.
Chartiers Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Montour's loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-4-1. As for Chartiers Valley, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
