Basketball Recap: Creekside Comes Up Short

Creekside suffered their biggest loss since January 30, 2024 on Monday. They were dealt a 61-33 defeat at the hands of the Providence School Stallions. The game marked the Knights' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Creekside lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Brie McCoy, who posted seven points and three blocks. The dominant performance gave McCoy a new career-high in blocks. Cami Waters was another key player, putting up ten points.

Providence School was led to victory by Janie Boyd and Kasey Davey. Boyd put up 23 points and seven steals, while Davey dropped a double-double on 13 points and 15 boards. Davey has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Janai Jordan, who had 11 points and three steals.

Creekside's loss dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Providence School, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-5.

Creekside and Providence School should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. Creekside (ranked 88th) will meet St. Augustine (ranked 305th) at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Creekside is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.3 points per game this season. Meanwhile, Providence School (ranked 24th) will meet Trinity Christian Academy (ranked 599th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
