Western hasn't had much luck against Southeast Career Tech recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Warriors will challenge the Roadrunners at 11:00 a.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Western is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Everything went their way against Eldorado as they made off with a 12-2 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Warriors considering their one-run performance the match before.

Edgar Garcia made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. Garcia was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. He has become a key player for Western: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-12 otherwise.
In other batting news, Saul Benitez Tapia was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI and two runs. Those RBI were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Eddie Reveles, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI.
Western always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last game, Southeast Career Tech made sure to put some runs up on the board against Doral Academy Red Rock on Friday. The Roadrunners were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Dragons. The win continues a trend for the Roadrunners in their matchups with the Dragons: they've now won seven in a row.
The team relied heavily on Tiernon Wolf, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Ethan Springfield was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Western's record is now 14-12. As for Southeast Career Tech, their record now sits at 22-10.
Saturday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Western has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .432. However, it's not like Southeast Career Tech struggles in that department as they've averaged .472. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Western suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to Southeast Career Tech in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
