There's no place like home for the Wilson Hall Barons, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top against Pee Dee Academy by a score of 70-57 on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wilson Hall to victory, but perhaps none more so than Shawn michael Matthews, who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds and six assists. Matthews also scored 15+ points for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Burton, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
Wilson Hall pushed their record up to 7-1 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.3 points per game. As for Pee Dee Academy, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-1.
Wilson Hall won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Pinewood Prep at 4:00 p.m. on December 9th. Pinewood Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully Wilson Hall likes a good challenge. Pee Dee Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Orangeburg Prep at 12:00 p.m. on December 9th.
