Metro - Pacific Top Player Performances of the Week
Congratulations to this week's top players! We're covering the best performances from Friday's football action (using all statistics entered as of the time of writing). Enjoy!
A Season-Best Effort from Benjamin Moya Leads Mar Vista over San Ysidro
Benjamin Moya produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Mar Vista to the win on Friday. Moya rushed for 32 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 65 receiving yards and a touchdown. The performance marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in August.
Moya and Mar Vista are on the road again on Friday to play Southwest SD at 6:30 p.m. The Mariners got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Raiders, probably because Moya had a solid game then too: he rushed for 42 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 123 yards on nine of 15 attempts. Can he match (or beat) that performance?

Peter Thomas Dazzles in Mar Vista Win

Those 74 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Dario Garcia Turns in Season-Best Effort
San Ysidro came up short on Friday despite Dario Garcia delivering his best game to date. Garcia rushed for 130 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries. The performance marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in October of 2023. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 80 yards.
Mar Vista had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Garcia it was a similar story. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Garcia saw the Mariners), he rushed for 214 yards and a touchdown while picking up 11.9 yards per carry.
