The Broomfield Eagles just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Holy Family Tigers at 1:00 p.m. on December 16th. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Broomfield sitting on four straight wins and Holy Family on ten (dating back to last season).
On Friday, Broomfield took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 88-52 victory over Roosevelt. Given Broomfield's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while Roosevelt is ranked 277th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Broomfield to victory, but perhaps none more so than Will Lapham, who scored 13 points. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for him. Blaes Kane was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Meanwhile, Holy Family beat University 54-42 on Thursday. 54 seems to be a good number for Holy Family as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Broomfield's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Holy Family, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Broomfield strolled past Holy Family in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 by a score of 67-53. The rematch might be a little tougher for Broomfield since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
