The Parkdale Panthers pushed their score all the way to 59 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to DuVal 64-59. While losing is never fun, Parkdale can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 237th, while DuVal is ranked 101st).
When it comes to explaining why Parkdale lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jacob Wilson. Despite the final result, he scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mark Freeland, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds.
Parkdale struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as DuVal racked up 17 assists.
Daniel Nwaete was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds for DuVal. Nwaete hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for ten straight games. Another player making a difference was Amani Lett, who scored seven points along with six assists and four steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Parkdale and nudges their season record down to 4-11. As for DuVal, they pushed their record up to 9-4 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.
