The Lowell Red Devils will head out on the road to square off against the Benton Central Bison at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lowell is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.

Lowell was handed a 14-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Portage 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Red Devils have posted since April 18th.

Meanwhile, Benton Central fell victim to Twin Lakes and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Indians, falling 10-0. The Bison have struggled against the Indians recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Benton Central saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tanner Pitstick, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

The win got Lowell back to even at 9-9. As for Benton Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-12.

Lowell's speedy runners might be the difference in Saturday's matchup. The Red Devils have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Benton Central, though, as they've been averaging only 0.7 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Lowell continue to outrun the ball?
