After a string of six wins, the Innovation Academy The Red Tailed Hawk's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 57-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Prospect Hill Academy. Innovation Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Prospect Hill Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Despite the loss, Innovation Academy still got an impressive performance from Derrick Twum, who scored 28 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. That was a full 54.9% of Innovation Academy's points, marking the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Bryce Kankam, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Innovation Academy's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-4. As for Prospect Hill Academy, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 1-3.
Innovation Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Academy of Notre Dame at 5:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Prospect Hill Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
