They took down Cigarroa 57-42. Given Palmview's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 183rd, while Cigarroa is ranked 604th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Palmview to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jocelyn Rojas, who scored 20 points along with five steals. Rojas has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Nicole Flores was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Palmview is on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 18 games, which provided a nice bump to their 24-5 record this season. As for Cigarroa, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-13.
Palmview will head out on the road to take on Rio Grande City at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rio Grande City is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
