Palomar recap October 1, 2013
Ramona added to the longest winning streak in Palomar this week by beating Helix, 10-6. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Rancho Bernardo scaled the state rankings by moving to 315 from 464 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Broncos climbed the ranks as a result of topping San Marcos 31-0.
Rancho Bernardo's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Michael Searson threw for 129 yards and Devin Goodloe had 69 yards receiving. On the ground Searson contributed 100 yards.
Goodloe was the best receiver in the league this week as Tristan McCoy's team topped the Knights. Goodloe tallied 3 receptions for 69 yards.
6-foot-4 quarterback Searson of the Broncos is the league leader in passing yards this season with 663. He has also thrown 4 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Garrett Binkley. The Ramona star has 13 catches for 168 yards.
Ramona was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after defeating the Highlanders. Damon Baldwin's team came in at 19 in the state poll after placing at number 44 last week.
