Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Louisville

Louisville barely beat New Philadelphia the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Leopards put the hurt on the Quakers with a sharp 12-4 win on Friday. 12 seems to be a good number for the Leopards as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Louisville got a massive performance out of Greyson Brunoni, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI. The Leopards are undefeated when Brunoni posts two or more runs, but 8-11 otherwise. Luke Seaman was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

The win (which was Louisville's third in a row) raised their record to 11-11. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for New Philadelphia, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-6.

Louisville and New Philadelphia could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Leopards will square off against Hoover at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (119 vs. 18). Meanwhile, New Philadelphia (ranked 85th) will meet Dover (ranked 24th) at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
