After each having a week off, the Lynnfield Pioneers and the North Reading Hornets will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 10:30 a.m. on November 23rd. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Lynnfield can now relate to. They received a tough blow two weeks ago as they fell 27-13 to the Hawks.
Despite their defeat, Lynnfield saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Tyler Adamo, who threw for 287 yards and two touchdowns on only 18 passes, was perhaps the best of all. Zahir Mitchell was another key contributor, picking up 95 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, North Reading lost to Winthrop on the road by a decisive 39-22 margin two weeks ago.
Lynnfield's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-2. As for North Reading, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
Everything went Lynnfield's way against North Reading when the teams last played back in November of 2022 as Lynnfield made off with a 32-6 win. Does Lynnfield have another victory up their sleeve, or will North Reading turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
