El Capitan hasn't had much luck against Granite Hills recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Vaqueros will host the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
El Capitan came out on top against Valhalla on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run seventh inning. The Vaqueros blew past the Norsemen 9-2. The Vaqueros haven't had any issues with the Norsemen recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Seth Walker looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because El Capitan is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 7-13-1 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ethan Soule, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Ryder Powers was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
El Capitan hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between Granite Hills and Helix, and Granite Hills kept the tradition alive. The Eagles came out on top against the Scotties by a score of 6-2 on Wednesday.
Hoss Harper spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up six Ks.
On the hitting side, Anthony Miotti was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Eurijah Schutza, who earned two runs and one stolen base.
El Capitan's win bumped their record up to 10-14-1. As for Granite Hills, their victory bumped their record up to 18-5.
