The Hopewell Blue Devils were the 78-62 winner over the Colonial Heights Colonials when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Hopewell lost to the Colonials on the road by a decisive 69-54 margin on Friday. Hopewell has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.
Colonial Heights was led to victory by Tj Freeman and Cameron Hartsoe. Freeman scored 17 points along with eight steals and five rebounds, while Hartsoe scored 24 points. Fletcher Grubb was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two steals.
Hopewell's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Colonial Heights, their win bumped their record up to 8-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hopewell will take on the Warriors at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Colonial Heights, they will head out on the road to challenge the Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
