Softball Recap: Bolton Extends Winning Streak to Three

Bolton entered their tilt with Putnam on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Clippers 14-2. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won three matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Abbie Gravel made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, Sarah Mattei was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Reagan Rosenberg was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Bolton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .647. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Bolton pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Putnam, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bolton will venture away from home to face off against Hale Ray at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Putnam, they will head out to square off against Lyman Memorial at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
