With a playoff game on the line, the Del Norte Nighthawks rose to the challenge on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 31-15 win over the Vikings. The win was nothing new for Del Norte as they're now sitting on three straight.
Jack Schneider was the offensive standout of the matchup as he threw for 223 yards and two touchdowns while completing 82.4% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Ryan Remigio, who rushed for 112 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries.
Another reason for the win was Del Norte's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. Leading the way was Khalid Farah and his two sacks.
Del Norte's win bumped their record up to 11-2. As for La Jolla, their loss dropped their record down to 10-3.
Del Norte will be playing in front of their home fans against Birmingham at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Birmingham's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight games. La Jolla does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
