Baseball Recap: Grand Ledge Comes Up Short

Grand Ledge dropped their record down to 9-5 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Lakeview Spartans by a score of 5-4. The Comets were not able to make up for their loss to the Spartans from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

As for Lakeview, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-11. That's two games straight that they have won by just one run.

For Lakeview's part, Camden Bradley tossed a big game, pitching nine innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits.

At the plate, Lakeview got a big performance out of Gavin Deal, who went 3-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave Deal a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sam McCullough, who went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases and one run.

While Grand Ledge had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
