Mary G. Montgomery saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anderson Murray, who went 1-for-3 with one double.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Davidson). They blew past Williamson 15-8 on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Warriors considering their one-run performance the game before.
Micah Spivey made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave him a new career-low. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brian Davis, who scored three runs and stole five bases while going 2-for-4. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Bazor, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Davidson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .641. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
With the victory, Davidson broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-11. As for Mary G. Montgomery, their loss dropped their record down to 8-12.
Everything went Mary G. Montgomery's way against Davidson in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Mary G. Montgomery made off with a 10-0 win. Does Mary G. Montgomery have another victory up their sleeve, or will Davidson turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
