Manual has gone a perfect 4-0 against The Pinnacle recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Thunderbolts will head out on the road to challenge the Timberwolves at 7:00 p.m. Manual has given up an average of 26 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
On Saturday, Manual was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 39-34 to Highland. The Thunderbolts haven't had much luck with the Huskies recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Manual might have lost, but man, Marcus Keller was a machine: he threw for 280 yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed for 60 yards and one TD.
Meanwhile, after only eight points in their last contest, The Pinnacle made sure to put some points up on the board against Jefferson on Friday. The Timberwolves walked away with a 38-26 win over the Saints. The game was the first time the Timberwolves have beaten the Saints on their field since September 18, 2015.
Manual better keep an eye on Aj Duran. He was instrumental in The Pinnacle's win, rushing for 162 yards and one score while picking up 7.4 yards per carry, and also throwing for 15 yards and one TD. Duran didn't just play on offense: he also made eight total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defended two passes. Yadhir Perez was in the mix as well, providing The Pinnacle with three touchdowns.
The Pinnacle was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 257 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 153 rushing yards in five consecutive games.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to The Pinnacle's defense and their seven sacks. Jefferson's QB won't forget Omar Terrones-Jara anytime soon given he sacked him three times.
Manual's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for The Pinnacle, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Manual has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 177.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like The Pinnacle struggles in that department as they've been averaging 229.5 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Manual against The Pinnacle when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 69-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Thunderbolts since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
