The Mount de Sales Academy Cavaliers can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Stratford Academy out 41-38. The victory was just what Mount de Sales Academy needed coming off of a 66-36 defeat in their prior match.
Leading Mount de Sales Academy to victory were Julia Bonbrake and Laura lillie Sparks. Bonbrake scored 12 points along with six rebounds, while Sparks scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Mount de Sales Academy's victory ended a 12-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-13. As for Stratford Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mount de Sales Academy will take on the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Tattnall Square Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Cavaliers in Georgia (the Trojans are ranked 138th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 423rd). As for Stratford Academy, they will stay at home for another game and welcome the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd.
