It was a good run, but the West Carteret Patriots unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 44-29 bruising from East Carteret. West Carteret was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as East Carteret apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played last Tuesday.
Several Patriots players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sam Huber, who scored 6 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals. Huber is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ella Graham, who scored 8 points along with 7 rebounds.
Among those leading the charge was Tanzania Locklear, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 10 rebounds. Kenliana Dixon was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 7 assists.
West Carteret's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for East Carteret, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Carteret will take on Kinston at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for East Carteret, they will be playing at home against Croatan at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Croatan is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
