The BASIS - Scottsdale Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight defeat. They fell 49-36 to Heritage Academy. BASIS - Scottsdale has not had much luck with the Heroes recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
BASIS - Scottsdale lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Nithish Prakash, who scored eight points along with seven steals. Prakash has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Tropper, who scored ten points along with five steals.
Heritage Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaden Bergman, who scored 20 points. Bryce Campbell was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
BASIS - Scottsdale's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Heritage Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 15-5 record this season.
BASIS - Scottsdale will head out on the road to take on the Dragons at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. AZ Compass Prep is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home. Heritage Academy will take on the Bobcats at 7:03 p.m. on Monday. BASIS - Chandler knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully the Heroes like a good challenge.
