The Lamar Thunder posted their biggest win yet this season on Thursday. They blew past Custer County 55-18 at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 33-9.
Lamar found their leader in underclassman Gabrian Jacobs, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jacobs has scored all season. Austin Thacker was another key contributor, scoring four points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Several Bobcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Christopher Mullett, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Lamar pushed their record up to 10-3 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Custer County, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lamar will take on St. Mary's at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Mary's is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak. As for Custer County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cotopaxi at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Cotopaxi has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
