The St. Mary's Dragons will be playing at home against the Normandy Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Mary's knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 16 games -- so hopefully Normandy likes a good challenge.
Last Saturday, St. Mary's faced New Madrid County Central in a battle between two of the state's top teams. St. Mary's fell to New Madrid County Central 85-80. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Meanwhile, Normandy pushed their score all the way to 59 two weeks ago, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 64-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Priory. Normandy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
St. Mary's defeat dropped their record down to 14-2. As for Normandy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.
St. Mary's beat Normandy 47-40 in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Will St. Mary's repeat their success, or does Normandy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
