Oxnard is a perfect 10-0 against Pacifica since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Yellowjackets will host the Tritons at 3:30 p.m. Oxnard is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
On Friday, Oxnard came up short against Rio Mesa and fell 5-2.
Natalie Rodarte made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Rachel Godoy, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Pacifica came out on top against Santa Barbara on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run first inning. The Tritons blew past the Dons 16-6. The Tritons haven't had any issues with the Dons recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Kelsey Colvin and Aubrey Colvin did most of the damage at the plate: Kelsey went 3-for-5 with four runs, four RBI, and one triple, while Aubrey went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those two doubles gave Aubrey a new career-high. Melissa Garcia was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Pacifica always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .610. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Oxnard's defeat dropped their record down to 16-9-1. As for Pacifica, their win bumped their record up to 6-13.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Oxnard hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .370. However, it's not like Pacifica struggles in that department as they've averaged .377. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
