3A District 7 recap November 13, 2013
American Heritage and Gulliver Prep played the closest game in 3A District 7 this week, with American Heritage eventually emerging with a 14-12 victory.
King's Academy took down North Broward Prep 58-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Cardinal Newman's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Daniel Cole threw for 15 and 1 touchdown and Travis Rudolph had 15 yards receiving. On the ground Erick Hardnett contributed 60 yards.
Hardnett provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Crusaders defeated Spanish River.
Hardnett was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 60 yards on 5 carries as Cardinal Newman bested the Sharks. Teammate Thomas Talenti added to the ground attack by rushing for 47 yards.
Cardinal Newman's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Crusaders feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Cole has thrown for 1,588 yards and 21 touchdowns this season, while Rudolph has 52 catches for 1,104 yards.
The Stallions made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 1,333 from 1,565. The advance stemmed from a 14-12 victory over the Raiders last week.
