Baseball Recap: Statesville Christian Wins Going Away Against Oak Ridge Military Academy

Statesville Christian not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 22, 2024. Everything went their way against the Oak Ridge Military Academy Eagles as the Statesville Christian Lions made off with an 11-4 win. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Toby Stewert and Jeremy Todd made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Stewert struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Meanwhile, Todd struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, Stewert scored three runs while going 3-for-5, while Todd scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits Stewert has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Andrew Thompson, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits. Elijah Super also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Statesville Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .524. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Statesville Christian's record is now 3-1. As for Oak Ridge Military Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Statesville Christian will welcome Burlington Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Oak Ridge Military Academy, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Oak Level Baptist Academy at 4:30 p.m. Oak Level Baptist Academy will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Oak Ridge Military Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
